Frequently Asked Questions
Can new windows really help lower my energy bills?
Yes, if your windows are not dual glazed you are losing valuable heat and/or air conditioning through them everyday – through the glass, around the edges of the window and from poor conduction that occurs through the old window frames.
Vinyl windows versus aluminum – which is right for my project?
As a rule you will achieve better insulating properties from vinyl frame windows. However we also can provide an aluminum frame window from “International Window Corp.” that meets the “energy star” performance standards and in four frame color options!
Are Fiberglass frame windows a good option for our local climate?
Absolutely! - Available now in “all fiberglass” frames and “fiberglass exterior/wood interior as provided by Marvin Windows, “Integrity” division.
What about Fiberglass doors versus wood doors?
With the extreme heat we experience in the desert and often with an eastern or western exposure, fiberglass is an excellent choice! There is no maintenance, i.e., painting and refinishing. The choices are unlimited for entry doors as well as French doors. If you prefer a traditional appearance or a more rustic, distressed look, fiberglass can achieve the result you are looking for.
What can I expect during construction when replacing windows and/or doors?
Our goal is to minimize the impact of construction. Most projects can be completed within a few days and you will experience a minimum of inconvenience.
